About this Jewelry
Beautiful and elegant describes Trifari's jewelry. It is some of the most recognizable jewelry in the world. Founded by Gustavo Trifari, an Italian immigrant and experienced family jewelry maker, Trifari was joined by Leo Krussman in 1917 and Carl Fishel in the early 1920's when the name was changed to Trifari, Krussman & Fishel. The company produced jewelry at varying price levels, and always had a recognizable style, which resembled fine jewelry. Famous designer Alfred Philippe designed Trifari jewelry, as well as for Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels. Many other famous designers or those who would become famous worked for the company. Maker's marks for Trifari includes "TFK," "Trifari, Krussman, Fishel" "Diane," and Trifari with a crown above the T. The company was purchased by Hallmark in the 1970's, and then by a host of other companies until finally in 2000 was purchased by the Liz Claiborne company.
